Here our five different models that we produce
Our singlecut model "Adarbakar" (means "single-horn" in Basque). Like its name shows, this bass is a singlecut shaped model, with the upperhorn fused and added to the body in a smooth and rounded form. With our characteristic downhorn and the "bite" in the base of the body. This model is the best match for who wants a hollowbody bass, due to the good acoustic response and its form and regular cavity design.
This is our "Biadar" model (it means "double-horn" in Basque). This bass has a doublecut shape, a long upperhorn to make it very balanced in weight, our characteristic downhorn and the "bite" in the base of the body. A classic style body form but with our own style design. Bodies with 5 string or more are a bit wider for better aesthetics and more comfortable playing in highs frets. Headless or standard with classical tunning pegs.
This is our Kaia bass model. A doublecut shape like our Biadar model but with sharp-edged horns, our characteristic lower-horn changes to fit it better to the general aesthetics but the base "bite" remains. Like our all Egilegor models, other important features of this bass are the asymmetric neck shape and the neck access. This access is more perpendicular than the Biadar model, giving you the asymmetric shape until the last fret position.
This is our "Bira" model, from hindi "Vïra" word. Our most heroic axe for the battle. Singlecut shape with the upper-horn similar to the "Adarbakar" bass but less pronounced and the down-horn is changed to match the base in a pointed shape. The headstock changes to a more classic style but in a rounded shape. This model in particular has a curved body, giving more ergonomics when playing and better adaptation to the human body.
"Hatz" means thumb in Basque. This is our tribute to that famous bass design, redesigned to our likes and tastes. Doublecut shape with an inverted upperhorn and our characteristic downhorn. The headstock has been shaped with rounded corners, that harmonize with the rounded body of the bass itself. This model in particular has a curved body, giving more ergonomics when playing and better adaptation to the human body.
There are some standards inherit to the models such scale or string spacing. You can check these options here. Then, you have all kind of custom options to choose for your custom luthier bass. Our only limit is the bass shape, the other limits are in your head!!
Headless, multiscale, hybrid pickups, electronics!!! Whatever!!! WE F*****G LOVE CHALLENGES!!!

Egilegor Basses is born from the passion of the luthier Imanol Artola Egilegor. Imanol, besides been luthier, is a bassist who is perfectly capable to understand the feelings and needs of other bassists.
Making instruments firstly as an amateur way, then developed and ended up producing more complex models and designs so as to offer bass models that are very difficult, perhaps impossible, to find anywhere.
Our efforts focus in different parameters which can be tuned, in order to improve the instrument characteristics, according to the customer preferences. We do not argue with magic, secret recipes, celestial pickups or spiritual rites about wood sonorities. Knowledge and technology are our tools and work guidance. Material strength, stability, design, mass, inductance, capacitance... are our working recipes.
Since the bass world is constantly changing and new necessities are appearing, we have the commitment to fulfill those needs.
Your wishes, our commands.
We use CAD technology to design our prototypes; this way we are able to monitor characteristics as center of gravity, body cavities thicknesses, perfect fret spacing... prior to the construction of the instrument.
Once the design is done, each component is mechanized via CNC in order to obtain a perfect assembly of all the components. As mentioned, each component is design according to the needs of our client (scale length, body thickness, string spacing...). The reason for using CNC is the accuracy that we can obtain. For instance, in multi-scale instruments, where micrometer tolerances are needed, CNC technology is crucial to match the strictest requirements.
At Egilegor basses we work with a perfect balance between technology and craftwork. Therefore, all the instruments are assembled and finished manually in order to guarantee that all the critical aspects regarding sound and playability are perfect. This is how we believe an instrument must be built.
All these processes are done in our workshop, which is full of creativity, development, research and innovation. Please, feel free to come and visit us, we will be proud to show you our work/philosophy.
